History of the Irish Trust

The Irish Pilgrimage Trust - almost 50 years old

The Trust started in 1972 when a group of volunteers brought 14 young people with special needs on holiday to Lourdes in France.  The Trust has travelled every year since and now brings over 500 young people with additional needs on holiday every Easter.

The Trust has expanded to include Lourdes Summer Pilgrimages to Hosanna House in Lourdes and holidays at our special homes in Kilcuan in Galway and Cois Cuain in Wexford (Cois Cuain was sold in May 2024).

From simple beginnings our volunteers have built an organisation that now serves hundreds of young people from all over Ireland every year.

The work of the Trust is primarily financed by our volunteers fundraising and donations.
